Being the 🐷first multi-state game for the Tri-State Lottery, Megabucks has undergone many c🎃hanges until it became the game that we know and love today.
- September 1985
- The Tri-State Megabucks game was launched in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.
- January 1986
- The number matrix was changed to 6/36.
- January 1988
- The number matrix was altered to 6/40.
- May 1990
- An additional draw on Wednesdays was added.
- June 1996
- The cash option was added for the jackpot.
- March 1997
- The number matrix was again altered to 6/42, and a bonus number was added.
- July 2009
- The game name was changed to Tri-State Megabucks Plus in Maine.
- The number matrix was changed to 5/41 + 1/6.
- Price per play was increased from $1 to $2.
- The starting jackpot was increased from $500,000 to $1,000,000.
- The second prize was increased from $10,000 to $30,000.
